WestWind Energy has taken its Moorabool Wind Project to the next stage, lodging plans with the Moorabool Shire Council.
The 110 turbine project is planned to be located approximately 5 km south of Ballan, Victoria. It will have a capacity of between 220 and 360 MW and consist of two sections: the 51 turbine Bungeeltap section, and the 59 turbine Ballark section.
WestWind Energy said that the project, which has an estimated costs of $600 million, will generate enough electricity to power approximately 126,500 homes.
The project will be on public notice until 19 April 2010.
