Green door open for sustainable development projects
Mon, 18 July 2011
A new program designed to accelerate the development of sustainable projects in Queensland has been opened by the Queensland Government.
Through the Green Door Program, the Queensland Government will establish dedicated case managers to work with organisations who have applied for development permits, in order to fast-track the assessment of projects displaying the ‘best of the best’ in green credentials.
The initiative is designed to reduce the time taken in the information and referral stage, allowing the delivery of sustainable renewable energy projects sooner.
Green Door was developed in conjunction with local governments and industry organisations, including the Green Building Council of Australia and the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
