With 20 per cent of Australia’s electricity to be delivered by renewable energy over the next decade, the industry is poised to expand at a massive rate. This expansion will bring with it both enormous opportunity and enormous challenge.

Hosted by the Clean Energy Council, the three-day conference will be held in Adelaide in May and is planned to be the biggest clean energy conference ever in Australia. In addition to the standard sessions it will include workshops, panel discussions and field trips.

Key to the program this year will be presentations on trends in the capital market and raising funds in a tough financial climate. Another major theme will examine how Australia can leverage the innovation in major economies such as the US, China and Spain to drive development of the local industry.

Clean Energy Council chief executive Matthew Warren said that clean energy was a dynamic space where the rules change regularly as government and industry work together to get the framework right for investment.

“This conference will include analysis of the latest policy and market developments, plus first-hand information and insights about new projects and technologies,” he said.

“Regulators, financiers, manufacturers, private developers and others will be attending, and there will be many chances to network and develop invaluable business contacts in the industry,” he said.

Conergy is proud to be the major sponsor of the conference.
